and other major biological systems.
Payment requested in advance and we will meet in the OMSI lobby at 1245pm.
Ages: 4-6th grade
Friday, April 20th at 1pm-2:30pm

Zumbatomic Classes
A fun alternative to standard PE classes
Looking for a fun, economical alternative to the standard PE classes for homeschoolers?
I am a homeschooling mom who has an opportunity to offer Zumbatomic classes at the Firstenburg Community Center. Zumbatomic is a Latin based dance/exercise class. Kids love to crank up the music, shake, wiggle and have a blast with their friends. So why not get fit while they're at it! As a certified Zumba and Zumbatomic instructor I will teach a fun Zumba dance.
This Zumba program has an unique formula that is psychologically and physiologically relevant for kids ages 4 - 12. Exceptions may be made for older kids.
Classes will be held on either Tuesdays or Thursdays from 11:10 to roughly 12p.
Class fees are either $17.00 for four weeks or $5.00 drop in fee.
In order for the class to appear in the catalog I must have at least 6 interested kids.
Please contact me, Candace Crandall, if you are seriously interested in signing your kids up.

You will also experiment with special effects and stop motion animation. By the end of the class, you'll be able to go out and make your own masterpiece, and you'll watch television and movies with new eyes! The class will culminate in a family screening, complete with popcorn. Class films will be uploaded to a special class online video album for sharing. All activities takes place during classtime, and all equipment and supplies are included. Please bring a sack lunch. Lunch break included.

TUITION: $285 EQUIPMENT/LAB FEE: $50
AMY O'BRIEN is an independent filmmaker with a degree in Theater Arts from the University of Oregon who has been making films since 2002 after studying at the Film Center School of Film for four years. Her production company, Purple Macaroni Productions, makes films which "tell stories: yours, mine, ours." An experienced educator and home school parent who believes that all young people should learn to use the video medium to express themselves, she has taught a summer camp version of this class (with very popular reviews!) for three years.
For more information, contact Pam Minty, Education Program Manager here.
Tip for Parents: Use our convenient downtown location as a springboard for other activities. The School of Film is one block from the Central Branch of the Multhomah County Library, Oregon History Center, Portland Art Museum and Portland Center for the Performing Arts!

Homeschool Board/Card Game Club
Hey fellow homeschoolers! My name is Joshua Toothaker and I am 11. My family and I are starting a board/card game club for homeschoolers between the ages of 10 and 16. (This is more of a guideline than a hard and fast age limit.) We will be playing Macau, Smallworld, Dominion, Settlers of Catan, and other educational games. We would love to learn your favorite game as well.
Entry is a one-time fee of $5 (for wear and tear on our games).
This will be held at Guardian Games on Mondays starting at 12:30. My father and I will teach the games to those who do not know how to play. If there is sufficient interest, we will be running multiple games at once.
Guardian Games (our favorite game shop) has snacks and drinks for sale.
